We are pleased to announce our kidding schedule for 2017!
Babies expected in late February, March, April, May, and September.
Some notes first:
- It is our goal and mission to be THE top breeder of Nigerian Dwarf Goats based on health and goat happiness, excellence in animal husbandry, permaculture, organic rearing methods, breeding for temperament, dairy and show qualities, top-of-line registries, and pre and post sale customer service and education!
- We will work closely with you to fit the right kid to your desired needs (e.g. dairy, show, pet, temperament, size, coloring, etc).
- All potential kids can be reserved on a 1st come / 1st served basis via a reservation list. Once the kids “hit the ground” a 50% non-refundable deposit will need to be received within 48 hours of contact or the next person on the list will be contacted.
- Blue eyes are dominant in the Nigerian Dwarfs, so a Blue eyed parent paired with a Amber eyed parent will predominately produce blue eyed offspring in our experience… but can also produce amber eyed kids.
- Please note that final coloration of kids can sometimes change as they grow up…. we have had black & white kids at birth turn an amazing tri-color chocolate brown and white with black pinstriping!!!!
- Pictures of first timers will be updated as we get closer to breeding
This is a DISEASE TESTED HERD (CL, CAE, Johne’s, Bruscellosis, and TB) (Note: Fall of 2017 we began showing and all show goats are quarantined and retested for CL, CAE and Jonhe’s before rejoining their herdmates).- All kids will be veterinarian disbudded under anesthesia, and microchipped
- All kids will come with ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association) and AGS (American Goat Society) registration papers and can also be triple registered with NDGA
- We prefer our kids stay with Mom until they are at least 8 weeks old, but will sell bottle babies under special circumstances
- We reserve first right to retain any kids (but are trying to limit our herd size)
- All goats in our herd browse on organic pastures and woods that have never been chemically treated. They are fed non-GMO alfalfa and orchard grass hay that is not chemically fertilized or sprayed, as well as non-GMO Mennonite grains.
“Expected Kid Quality” is a best guess based on experience and parent quality- Bucklings will start at $250 and up, Doelings at $400 and up
- These are dairy and pet goats and are not meat goats!
- Shipping may be available for an additional handling charge (although we prefer not to stress the babies by shipping them) + you handle all the details.
